Ecko ist ein Mastodon Fork mit vielen coolen Features, die Mastodon nicht hat.
Die Entwicklung hält sich an den Collective Code Construction Contract oder C4, um z.B. Funktionen hinzuzufügen, die von der Community als wertvoll erachtet werden.
Das ist ein großer Unterschied zu Mastodon, wo der Erfinder Eugen Rochko alleine entscheidet, welche Funktionen Mastodon haben soll, selbst entgegen der öffentlichen Meinung.

Welche Features hat Ecko, die Mastodon nicht hat?

Die*der Admin kann folgende Werte beliebig verstellen:

Zeichenlimit
Anzahl der Umfrageantworten
Zeichenlimit für Umfrageantworten
Anzahl der Profilfelder
Länge des "Über mich" Textes im Profil
Anzahl der gepinnten Toots

Die Admin Person kann auch ein Favicon in den Admin Einstellungen hochladen und die Instanzen Blockliste importieren und exportieren.
Außerdem sind lokale Posts möglich. Das sind Posts, die nur von anderen Nutzer*innen der gleichen Instanz gesehen werden können.
