Eckoはマストドンのフォークで、マストドンにはない多数のクールな機能を持っています。
Eckoは Collective Code Construction Contract 略してC4に従っており、例えば、コミュニティによって価値あるとみなされる機能を追加します。
これはマストドンとの違いです。マストドンでは、作者であるEugen Rochkoが機能を選択します。Eugen Rochkoの決定は多くの人々の意見に反することもあります。

管理者は以下の値を変更できます:

投稿の長さの最大値
投票の選択肢の数の最大値
投票の選択肢の長さの最大値
プロフィールのメタデータフィールドの数の最大値
プロフィールのテキストの長さの最大値
ピン止めされたトゥートの数の最大値

管理者は設定画面でfaviconをアップロードすることができます。また、インスタンスのブロックリストをインポート・エキスポートできます。
さらに、ローカルトゥートが可能です。これは、同じインスタンスの人々だけが見ることができるトゥートです。
