Du hast jetzt einiges an Erfahrung im Fediverse gesammelt, aber bist du auch zufrieden mit der Instanz auf der du bist?
Vielleicht willst du doch eine andere Software ausprobieren, oder dir sind die Instanzregeln zu lasch und du wirst ständig mit Posts konfrontiert, die dir unangenehm sind?
Dann ist es vielleicht Zeit mit deinem Account auf eine andere Instanz umzuziehen.

Die gute Nachricht: Von einer Mastodon (Fork) Instanz auf eine andere kannst du (fast) ganz ohne Follower-Verluste umziehen. Die schlechte Nachricht: Für das restliche Fediverse gibt es solche Funktionen noch nicht und selbst beim Umzug von Mastodon zu Mastodon, werden deine Posts nicht übersiedelt.

Von Mastodon zu Mastodon umziehen

Erstelle den Account zu dem du umziehen willst, wenn er nicht bereits existiert. Es muss kein neuer Account sein. Du kannst auch auf einen bereits aktiven Account umziehen und so quasi zwei Accounts vereinen.
Melde dich auf dem Account an ZU dem du umziehen willst und geh in die Einstellungen > Account > Von anderem Account umziehen.
Gib dort den Handle (@profilname@instanz.domain) des Accounts VON dem du umziehen willst ein.
Jetzt melde dich auf dem Account an, VON dem du umziehen willst und geh in die Einstellungen > Account > Zu einer anderen Instanz umziehen.
Gib den Handle des Accounts ZU dem du umziehen willst sowie dein Passwort ein und klicke dann auf "Follower umziehen".
Warte eine Weile bis alle Follower übertragen werden.

Einige Fakten:

Der Account von dem du umziehst wird nicht gelöscht, sondern deaktiviert und mit einer Umleitung auf deinen neuen Account versehen. Du kannst den Account später reaktivieren, aber die Follower sind dann eben weg.
Einige Follower von nicht-Mastodon Instanzen werden vielleicht nicht verschoben.

Zu oder von einer nicht-Mastodon Instanz umziehen

Tipp: Überlege dir gut, ob du wirklich umziehen, oder einfach einen weiteren Account betreiben willst.

Dies sind nur Vorschläge:

Schreibe auf deinem alten Account einen Post, dass du umziehen wirst, um deine Follower vorzubereiten.
Erstelle den neuen Account
Nenne deinen alten Account um auf so etwas wie "Profilname [alt]" oder "Profilname [umgezogen]".
Erstelle auf deinem alten Account einen Post, um deine Follower zu informieren, dass du umgezogen bist. Erwähne dabei unbedingt den Handle vom neuen Account und pinne diesen Post am besten auf deinem Profil an.
Schreibe die gleiche oder eine ähnliche Nachricht in die Accountbeschreibung deines alten Accounts.
Schreibe auf deinem neuen Account einen Vorstellungs-Post und verwende die Hashtags #NeuHier und #Vorstellung, sowie einige weitere die du zuvor verwendet hast.
Warte einige Zeit und wiederhole Punkt 4 gegebenenfalls ein paar mal.
Gehe durch deine Follower Liste vom alten Account und informiere die Leute, die dir noch nicht am neuen Account folgen, über deinen Umzug.
Du kannst auch eine deiner besseren Posts vom alten Account nochmal auf dem neuen Account posten.
