Unlike most other {{Internal link |target=What is the Fediverse? |link-name=Fediverse}} apps, Nomad is a Web app. Instead of providing a native Android UI for everything, it embeds a view of Hubzilla's Web interface and integrates it into the system. This way, Nomad can easily cover all of Hubzilla's many features. In addition, it has various shortcuts to some pages on the Web interface.

Still, switching to another hub to access {{Internal link |target=What is nomadic identity? |link-name=clones}} requires logging out and back in.

The latest release version is 0.8.16 from October, 2019. Nomad has been abandoned since then. It has been reported to no longer work on more recent versions of Android, but it continues to work on Sailfish OS via Aliendalvik. That said, Hubzilla itself can be installed as a Progressive Web App on operating systems which supports them.
