Merge into Account creation

I'm thinking that it might be better to merge this page with Account creation.
Both pages are very short anyway and I think the info here would fit perfectly into the bullet list of the other page.
Or are there plans to make this page a lot longer?

OK. I agree.

I don't agree. I think this page is also useful for instance admins. Being able to look at the feed of an instance gives you good info on if it's worth blocking or not.
(PS, I hope this is okay, I reformatted the replies in the way it's done on Wikipedia, so it's easier to follow the convo if it gets larger.

I agree that a How to explore instances page would be good as a separate page, if it shows you how to look at feeds and profile directories of instances. But that's not what this page was about.

Ah gotcha. Page was gone by the time I had made my account, so must've misremembered the contents.
I can draft up a page on instance moderation tips if that helps? I noticed the Category:Admin_guide

That sounds like a good idea, though I think exploring instances would also be helpful for people who are interested in joining that instance.

Restore?

Yes, Paula, I agree with that. You could restore the article, then you and non-admins can see whether we can improve or update what was there before. People want to know about instances when getting an account but also when considering moving - as those of us on big instances are being encouraged to do.
