Project Quality control
This project is about 2 things: marking pages with quality issues (e.g. drafts or outdated pages) and improving those posts.
The main page of this project is Project:Quality control.
The start of this projects depends on User:Paula to:
  • create templates for warnings about the quality of a page
  • define quality standards (of course you are free to give inputs)

Later we should:

  • mark pages that don't meet the quality standards
  • list them and then work on improving them
edit this section

Welcome to the Project Quality control.
On this page we collect tasks about assuring the quality of pages on this wiki.

Main tasks

The main tasks for the near future are:

  • defining criteria for insufficient quality of an article
  • creating templates for warnings about the quality of a page
  • marking pages with insufficient quality with one of the warning templates
  • listing and categorizing posts with insufficient quality here
  • improving those articles and then removing the warnings

Warning templates

The basic template for warning templates can be found at Template:Messagebox and can be used in a template with the code: {{Messagebox |hex= |image= |headline= |body=}}

For now these Category:Warning templates exist linking articles in Category:Articles with issues:

Criteria

Category:Needs cleanup:

Category:Drafts:

  • articles that are clearly unfinished (generally too short, important headlines missing, sections too short, incomplete lists, ...)
  • articles the original author deems unfinished

Category:Outdated articles

  • articles that haven't been updated in a long time where info should just be checked for errors (e.g. dead links, depreciated projects, ...)
  • articles that contain information that is supposed to be regularly updated, but hasn't been in a while
  • articles that by nature are never really up to date (should be updated regularly, but message should never be removed)

Category:Under construction

  • articles that are undergoing heavy editing (e.g. moving info to or from other articles)

Category:Unrelated

  • articles that are not strictly related to the Fediverse and might be moved somewhere else at some point.

Category:Internal issues

  • any page that is in any namespace other than the main namespace and has any issue.

Category:Drafted or missing sections

  • any section that is either missing completely or is missing crucial information.

Category:Outdated sections

  • sections that haven't been updated in a long time where info should just be checked for errors (e.g. dead links, depreciated projects, ...)

Category:Sections that need cleanup

  • quite similar to drafted sections, but additionally for sections that contain too much content

Category:Sections with internal issues

  • sections on non-main-namespace pages that have any issues
