BookWyrm is published under the [https://github.com/bookwyrm-social/bookwyrm/blob/main/LICENSE.md anti-capitalist software license] which is not a Free Software license according to the Free Software Foundation, but, as the name says, an anti-capitalist license. That means that nobody can profit off the project.
BookWyrm, on the other hand, is focused on community sharing, discussion and kindness.<br>
BookWyrm is part of the [[What is the Fediverse? | Fediverse]] and as such decentralized. That means you can create your own little BookWyrm instance e.g. for your friends and connect to other instances.<br>
