Fediverse projects are the different software parts of the Fediverse. Many of them are replacements for better-known social media platforms.

O Mastodon é uma plataforma de mibroblogue, ou microdiário, tal como Twitter®, aonde publica-se pequenos textos sobre o cotidiano ou sobre uma temática específica.
Estas entradas geralmente estão restritas a um limite de 500 caracteres, por isto o "micro". O limite, porém varia de instância para instância, ficando ao critério do criador desta liberar até 65535 (2^16-1) caracteres.

Misskey is another microblogging service like Twitter and Mastodon.
It has a different design and different limits than Mastodon and Pleroma.

Pleroma is another microblogging service like Twitter, Mastodon and Misskey.
Contrary to Mastodon though it usually has a character limit of 5000 as well as some other differences.

GoToSocial

GoToSocial is another microblogging service like Twitter, Mastodon, Misskey and Pleroma.
It's very light weight.
Friendica

Friendica is a social network like Facebook.
Post text, pictures and videos for the eyes of only your family or friends; or share them with the Fediverse.
What is Hubzilla ?

Hubzilla is a modular webserver-based operating system which includes technologies for publishing, social media, file sharing, photo sharing, chat and more, including the ability to develop custom modules.
What is WriteFreely?

WriteFreely is a (macro-)blogging service like Wordpress or Blogger.
You can create beautiful blogs, diaries and books.
Lemmy

Lemmy is a link aggregator like Reddit.
You can post links, images and text posts that people can vote and comment on.
What is Pixelfed?

Pixelfed is a photoblogging service like Instagram.
Your posts must include at least one image, but of course you can add captions, tags, and location data.
What is PeerTube?

PeerTube is a video sharing service like Youtube or Vimeo.
You can upload videos for others to watch on the website. People can subscribe from all over the Fediverse.
What is Owncast?

Owncast is a video streaming service similar to Twitch.
You can e.g. stream live video and chat with your viewers.
Funkwhale

Funkwhale is an audio sharing service like e.g. Spotify or Bandcamp.
You can listen to artists, albums, playlists, podcasts and radio shows and upload your own audio.
What is Mobilizon?

Mobilizon is an event planner similar to Facebook events.
You can create events and add locations, dates, pictures and so on.
What is BookWyrm?

BookWyrm is a book cataloguing service like Goodreads.
You can track your reading habits, review and rate books and more.
